
OUR STORY
Chef/Owner Mike Willenbring and his wife Nicole, are living out their dream of owning a restaurant in the St. Croix Valley, where they both grew up and are now raising their own family.
Manger Restaurant and Wine Bar (Est. 2018) is a French Bistro/Brasserie style restaurant located in Bayport, Minnesota, in the beautiful St. Croix Valley. The French word "Manger," pronounced (Mahn-jay) means "to eat."
In French kitchens, the "Garde Manger" station is where the oysters, seafood platters, salads, and cold apps are prepared. We feature our Garde Manger Station prominently right when you walk in the front door!
Mike and his staff change the menu seasonally, using fresh and local ingredients, French technique and inspiration, and feature an a la Carte Menu, or a 5 course "Chef's Counter" option, if booked 48 hrs in advance, along with regularly occurring wine and collaboration dinners.
The restaurant also features an Oyster Bar, an open kitchen, locally distilled craft cocktail menu, and beautiful patio. The wine list (40% French) of almost 200 wines, is carefully curated with our favorite wineries, focusing on the wineries we have visited, the wine makers we have met, and wines that have a great story that we just think you will love.
